The 90 day challenge

Recently, I’ve noticed a bunch of 30, 90 or 100 day challenges
popping up all over the place, for many
different causes and objectives.

At first I thought these were silly.
But my opinion changed when I realized that no matter the outcome,
these challenges resulted in people gaining something precious…
A form of power that can transform every aspect of our lives:

Victory over one’s personal demons.

That’s when I decided to challenge myself for 90 days.
The benefits were just too powerful to ignore.

Whether self-doubt, procrastination, the inability
to persevere and work a project until the very end.
Whatever it is, these mind parasites can be
conquered by simply following through,
making sure every action contributes to the final goal,
and then repeating this 89 more times.

A very simple and effective formula.
One that I can follow, for sure.

As if slaying those inner demons wasn’t enough,
the people who completed these challenges were also rewarded
with enhanced skills in whatever activity they chose to
pursue. And it’s logical- Whether training, writing,
swimming, talking to people, taking pictures….

Doing something every single day for 90 days can
only result in getting better at that thing.

It became obvious that a simple personal challenge like this could
help me break through the mental blocks and self-doubt
that have been buried deep inside and preventing me
from taking action and attaining success in many areas of my life.

What about you?
What can you do to improve the quality of your life

The only condition is to decide on something and stick
to it if you simply stick to it for a predetermined amount of time.
If we’re honest with ourselves, we all have something to improve.

The reason I chose a 90 day challenge is because the changes I
need to make in my life are drastic, and I felt that 30 days was
simply not enough…

After my initial attempt at entrepreneurship, I learned a lot about myself.
What I wanted, but most importantly- what I DIDN’T want to do with my life.
I re-evaluated my life’s objectives and set new goals,
ones that were suited to my own talents and strengths.

When I turned the page on that business, I made an important decision-

From this moment on, I will ONLY do things that contribute
to my happiness, the happiness of others and my future goals.

I encourage you to do the same. This is quite vague and will be
different for each of us. But for me, it meant focusing on what I enjoy
doing the most, and feel that I could have the most impact doing- Writing.

The only problem is that up to now, I’ve never really had to write
on a consistent basis. I only have a high school education, so
writing 10+ page essays has never been part of my reality.

Which is where the 90 day challenge comes in, one page a
day for 90 days. No matter what. Sounds easy, but I’m only on
day 3 and I can assure you that it’s not. Your mind always tries
to go elsewhere, other priorities always seems to creep up.

This is the resistance I mentioned earlier, or my version of Satan.
And I’m determined to show that bastard who’s the master of MY mind!

If you’re also starting a personal challenge, remember that these hurdles
may feel trivial, but what we do in those seemingly unimportant moments
will determine the course of our entire lives.

So keep reminding yourself that this is just training for the big game,
and try having fun with it. The rewards will come, some of them are
out of all proportion to what our little human minds can imagine!

Have faith. In yourself, life, the universe, God.
Whatever keeps your inner flame alive.
